Those are the type of democrats that I personally hope are the future of the party.

You and me both.

I think Klobuchar would make an excellent President, but we don't have a great track record of electing people that would actually be excellent at the job. And the sexism. The rumors of her mistreating her staff will still dog her.

Spanberger should be developed as a future leader.

We’re they just rumors?

He’s my fav.

I like him a lot, too. And his dog.

I worry there's a bit of "shiny new thing" to this - but he's actually been around doing a lot for a while, it seems, so maybe not.

Assuming Biden doesn't run again in 2024 - just for the sake of argument - I will be v curious to see what the field looks like. Mark Kelly seems like an interesting contender. I don't think Sinema could win the primary (but maybe!). I guess we'll see what our party is hungry for in three more years.

More Biden.

I like both of them a lot, too. Good picks. I was a Klob-head last time before I threw it in for Biden - I think she has a lot to offer. Spanberger, too.

Is there anyone exciting and viable to track on the Democratic side?

Republicans at least have their pet pols in DeSantis, Noem, Youngkin etc. Who do you foresee generating any kind of excitement for the Dems? I look at the current bench and just get depressed.

Congressman Clyburn said about the same thing on NPR this morning. He smartly said that the Dems have lost their way and really need to create some excitement are a candidate -- any candidate. Joe Biden was the Hail Mary pass to save the country and Kamala Harris was the Promise Kept VP.

Fetterman? Just look at him and try to imagine him on the campaign trail.

I think he’d crush it on the campaign trail.

Mark Kelly

Raphael Warnock
Tammy Duckworth
Ben Ray Lujan

Of this lot I’d rate Warnock the highest.

There’s probably folks in the House as well.

Obama was a freshly elected Senator this time in 2005.

Every one of these except Synema.
