Less police, not more please.

What good do you think that will do?
Disincentive assault? Are you seriously asking this?

To be fair, in my experience there is always a police presence at Wilson dismissal. Sometimes the officers are in cars, though. Also, I’ve never tried to distinguish between school security and MPD officers. Maybe there’s a division of duties of which we are not aware.

I’m not saying it’s not horrible, it clearly is, but also super weird.

That’s not ok that kids are unfazed. It’s trauma or mental illness or something else but it’s not normal
The original poster said her child was shaking at pickup. Someone else came along and sussed out from a parked car that all the other kids were just fine. She has no idea they were all fine. She has no idea who was fazed and unfazed. And, she doesn't know how kids should look/react when hearing this kind of news.
So, I'd focus on what happened and the kid that got injured and not try and psychoanalyze all the other teens in school.

So, if the kids need police supervision when school is over and there are zero demands on them- we are still fine with a ratio of 25 kids to
1 teacher from 8-3? If the kids are wild at 3:30- they’ve been so all day.
