You can use this as a justification not to date anyone who is not perfect. Which is fine, but it could severely limit your dating pool, which may not be good for long term goals, depending on what they are. I refused to date men with kids because that made things so much harder. In hindsight it seems silly to rule out anyone with a child simply because of that; plenty of great single people have children and go on to have happy marriages.
