The current neighbors had it custom built. Then they tried to sell it but didn’t get any offers and pulled it off the market after several months. Because it’s an awful house.

A few years ago, they invited us over for dinner, after moving into their new home. When we arrived, I realized that it was a flip that had been shredded by commenters on this forum for being a "cheap flip" in Chevy Chase DC, with inconsistent design choices.

Our friends seem to enjoy the home, and I hope they don't realize their house was criticized on this forum.

No, and I was surprised that it was never posted since it's a new build and dcum seems to like shredding those apart...

Yes but I posted it myself (and said I was posting my own place). I asked Jeff to delete the post once I had all the advice I needed.

So my house was for sale, but the way the show works is that the "buyers" have already bought their home, then they show them 2 other houses actually on the market for them to "reject." My house was FAR better than the one the buyer "chose" but admittedly the selected one was in a better location.

Interestingly enough they didn't even tell me they were using our house. We showed up the morning of closing to take a last inspection and were shocked to find the house full of camera crews.

Okay that is crazy! I guess since you weren't technically the owners yet the sellers gave them permission? I agree with the previous poster that said the rejected houses are better (almost always) than the house the House Hunters buyers end up purchasing. This then leads me to wonder if the buyers on HH are like dang....I could've had that "rejected house" instead of the dog crap I purchased (because it's a way better house)!

I was sure our Capitol Hill RH would turn up on the H Street thread -- we listed during a downtime in inventory and the house is very well located, but small.

I'm still surprised it never made the grade.

I am a realtor and post houses on ArlNow which has the same owner as Popville. The ads are about $400 but worth it. I turn the comments off, but the cretins still make comments elsewhere. I am a pretty well known agent, and one guy always makes nice comments about me because he has come to some of my open houses. Otherwise the comments are awful, but it is part of the commenters shtick

Yes, but I didn’t see the thread until we had settled into our house (it had been posted months earlier). Some loved it, most loved the neighborhood, but there were negative comments about the street traffic. Turns out the traffic isn’t that bad.
