You have been dealing with some beta males. None of the men I know let their wives boss them around. How the hell is that even attractive? I would never be attracted to a man I had to boss around. I like real men, not immature men that I have to treat like a bad kid.
Almost all the high value men I can think of get bossed around by their wives

And relationships shouldn’t be someone controlling another person. Many women will claim abuse, so it’s not okay for the woman to have power over the men. Seems almost predatory. It’s creepy and weird.

My husband is 5 years older than me. Met when I was 32 and worked out because he was at a point where he was ready for marriage and kids. We still have a lot in common and enjoy the same things. All of friend couples have an age gap of 3-8 years and it’s hasn’t seem to make a huge difference. All of my friends married a slightly older guy when they were late twenties or thirties.

Yea, the ^PP is weird to think a six year age difference in adults is creepy or weird.
But, I look younger than DH
The only complication could be about retirement, but we are on track to be able to retire together before the older spouse turns 60.
And actually the age difference works better for sexual compatibility in terms of a woman losing her drive earlier than men, in many cases.
