That's the boys side - On the girls side its Beach FC and VYS, with some other clubs bubbling up at an age group or two. McLean and VDA are stronger on the girls side, but I'd definitely take those clubs over the bottom 3-4 ECNL Mid Atlantic teams. If there was true promotion and relegation by team instead of by club, Beach and VYS would be in ECNL in almost every age group.
I think Beach is next to get ECNL considering they don't have much competition in the region and they are really solid for boys and girls in almost every age group.
VYS is interesting though. Their consistency at older age groups is pretty impressive considering that they have lost some players over the years as a feeder club to other ECNL programs. And somehow their U12s pre-ECNL are crushing it. I thought Loudoun and Arlington were going to own the RL North at U11 and U12. That's happening at U11, where Arlington is first and Loudoun second by wide margins. But VYS is winning U12 by a lot. They beat 2nd place Arlington 7-0, and have wins against Beach and Loudoun as well. Loudoun is 6th place in the North at U12, but still.
GA would be a good consolation for VYS and that's probably a good fit. Do they want that though? Every club in GA seems to want to go somewhere else.

As we have said ad nauseum, that is because some of their top players have left by U13 to go elsewhere. The question isn't whether VYS would join as a standalone entrant. It is whether they would do so through alliance with GFR and /or BRYC.

This. If ECNL gets to the point where VYS gets in, I'd expect the more elite clubs to already be planning the next league. ECNL exists to exclude small clubs like VYS so that the bigger clubs can compete with other bigger clubs at a higher level.

Well they’re certainly not getting into ECNL any other way.
In 3 years of existence they have a kid signed into DC United and a handful of teens about to secure scholarships for college.
Doesn’t sound too bad, IMO.
