I think I could have considered Baker, but his running mate is not centrist. She is not only more to the left, but to the extreme left.

I think you're right. I do. but I think a lot of those "down to the bone" dems might be JUST frustrated enough to vote for Blair for MoCo Exec, or for a very moderate republican for Gov. Especially if someone like Baker gets the nom from the Dems
Baker is moderate compared to Ben Jealous, who he ran against last time. He's moderate compared to Tom Perez. Franchot and Gansler are old school and their time has come and gone.
If Michael Steele enters the race, I think he will win. He's very moderate.
Steele won’t win the Republican primary.
