Tell them to "man up". No joke. I'm raising a man, and I've already raised three men and two women. I tell my youngest the same thing I told the other 5.

This exactly. We can support the kids feelings to move to a better place about the situation, but otherwise that’s life and you/ kid should understand that. HS and professional sports teams are competitive, and as such not everyone gets accepted or plays. If still interested in playing that’s why rec leagues and intramurals are created. If you want to try out again, practice and try again understanding that’s still not a guarantee.
