Yes, but my wife wouldn't ever be untrustworthy enough to go through it without asking.

Personal phone, yes.

Personal computer - only if I cleared the porn from my browser history.

Work phone, no. It contains material covered by attorney-client privilege and it would be a massive ethical breach for my spouse to read those communications.

That's the way I feel about my phone too, though my DH didn't. We had a big fight about it. He used to pick up my phone and scroll through FB or see what I've been browsing and comment about it. There's nothing terrible there, but it felt personal and I didn't need his commentary. I don't think still he agrees with me that it's private, but he at least agreed not to do it any more.

But would he look?

We have each other's passwords and use each other's phones at times (and we both leave our phones lying around unguarded all the time), BUT we both believe in each other's right to privacy. I should be allowed to say things to my friends that he doesn't necessarily need to read and I feel the same about him.

So while I have texts or emails I don't want him to see, I would still leave him with my phone because (a) nothing is that bad and (b) I don't think he'd even look.

They come up as alerts, so he’d probably see something.

Sure.

He would see that DS (at college) and I text more often (though not often, just to clarify) than DH hears from him.

If I had to I would, but it's a big invasion of privacy. I text with friends about stuff I would prefer to keep between us.

It's like asking if you would be ok with your spouse having a camera on you when you are out with friends. Perhaps you want to confide about something and not have them eavesdrop. Same thing.

Nah, I already started Christmas shopping for him, and he's a snoop.

Nope. And it’s not that I’m cheating or have anything to really hide. I just don’t want her seeing the weird shit I sometimes Google or porn that I watch (she knows that I watch it).

No. Because she wouldn't leave me with hers - both of them. If did leave it with her for 24 hours and she snooped and read things not meant for her, then I would probably file for divorce for the lack of respect of my privacy. Even in a relationship, a spouse has a right to keep certain things private and only divulge them to their partner if they so wish.

I would absolutely leave my phone and go away with my SO for the day and night! I’d leave my phone for my sO any day!

Yes but he wouldn’t care to look. I wouldn’t care so look at his either. The most juicy things he would find is probably some porn or pics I took that I was thinking of sending to him.
