The posters here are suggesting the Takoma Park instituting a city-wide indoor mask mandate. It's not clear me that that is what the tweet is saying. I doubt the City Manager can do that. The City Manager can, however, probably continue requiring masks in city facilities.

I think the Health Ministry of the Union of Socialist Parks of Takoma is in a pissing contest with their Tree Ministry that requires everyone to submit to all sorts of red tape and fees for every single tree they may want to cut down on their own private property. The Health Ministry is showing the Tree Ministry, 'Oh yeah! I can still require masking even though it flies in the face of current epidemiology!'.

Because people have different opinions than you do?
Because they can still get COVID if exposed even if they're vaccinated, and even if they aren't super sick they can transmit to others who may get very sick?
Because they're a rule follower?
Because they want people to know they take it seriously?
Because they know it may impact their business negatively if they don't because *some* people will walk out? (Yeah yeah, not you, I know.)

Great. Well I DON’T want to wear a mask, and I rarely do anymore, even when back in DC. I know some of you love masks and hate to see the pandemic end, but you’re just going to have to deal with the fact that the world is moving on.

Really? How do you figure that? There were more than 100 people in the room, guests and wait staff combined. So why are the servers more at risk than the party goers, who were drinking and dancing cheek to cheek?

I’m the socialist PP from earlier and I’m insulted. Apparently the workers movement has been reduced to UMC pasty white people wearing cotton masks. That’s what socialism has become? Rather than any actual wealth redistribution or collective action against concentrated power.
