I find watching with the captions on really helps. The dialogue is incredible but it moves really fast.

The entire point of the show is that its supposed to be an indictment of billionaire families with inherited wealth and power. The kids clearly don't have the chops of the original patriarch/matriarch and instead are sidetracked by their navel gazing hobbies or petty inter-personal squabbles. Meanwhile, the public investor has billions wrapped around the fingers of these clowns.

In short, the wealthy elite are not sending their best or brightest once you get a generation or two removed from the founders. And that's what the US gets to look forward to as we enter late stage capitalism - a bunch of nepotistic choads who will likely destroy value.

I mean look at Trump - he's the President representing trust fund kids who had everything handed to them. Clearly not the best or brightest.

Same, same, and same.

I thought the series was incredibly boring at first, but then got really into it.

Loved season 2.

A few episodes into season 3 and I think this may be their “sophomore” slump.

I stopped in the middle of season two. Hated all the characters, which I get is the point, but doesn’t mean I want to watch. I might pick it back up again.

I’ve gotten through the first two episodes and I absolutely can’t stand it. The people are all just so awful. They aren’t even good looking. Nothing happens. It’s just watching a bunch of vapid, rotten, ugly people be mean to each other.

Can someone tell me what’s appealing about it? It’s not funny, no eye candy, no cool city scapes, no action, etc…..what is the hook?

Exactly, lol. That's why I like it.

We just started watching a week or two ago and are up to episode 6 of the first season. I’d say Episode 1 was a little rough, especially with developing the Greg character. Episode 2 is still getting its feet. But if you get through Episode 3 and still don’t find it funny or interesting, it probably just isn’t the shoe for you.

It’s not a laugh-a-minute sitcom, but I’d say we laugh hard at something at least 3-4 times per episode. The horrible-family dynamics are kind of interesting, but personally I don’t think I’d watch if I didn’t also find it funny.

I’ll take Kendall Roy over Ted Lasso any day.

I still like him but I do agree with you, I’d like to see his character develop a bit. He’s become too predictable and one note.

It’s a soap opera with terrific writing and acting. It took me a few episodes to get into it but I loved all of season 2. Obviously the people are horrible - that’s one reason it’s a satisfying watch. I can bask in my mainstream suburban mom superiority.

I love Roman even though he is awful, I can’t help it.

Roman is the character who is most like me, so I have a soft spot for him. But he's definitely not likeable.
