Hahahaha this is a struggle. There was a 2- or 3-week gap between when my DD would say "no" vs. when she learned "yes." She is bilingual (German/English) and it comes out like "ja" even when she speaks English. Kind of cute

Both of mine got super opinionated around 2. Sometimes it's kind of cute, like if I try to help my 25 month old get dressed even just a little bit, she will yell HEY at me and take everything off and start completely over. It's just kind of annoying though when we need to be somewhere and don't have the time to accommodate her taking 10 min to put her shorts on (backwards) and her arms through the neck on the shirt and she won't let me fix anything.

I seem to recall my first was bad at 2 and worse at 3, but I lack the words to describe why. I think I've blocked both of those years from my memory.

3. Is worse than 2.

I find each age hard, and I have 2 and 5-year-old boys. Honestly, each year has been terrible. I look around at other people's children and wonder why the hell I ended up with these two rambunctious kids. People say it's getting more manageable. I didn't realize I had to wait 8-10 years. I NEVER get a chance to sit the f down. There's always a mess or screaming.

The climbing. Unfortunately, they could no longer be contained by sleep sack nor
crib.

I agree that it depends on the child but, if you have a very active kid, toddler years are physically exhausting in a way baby years aren’t (or weren’t, for me)

Totally depends on the kid. 2-3 was hard for me because my boys were all late talkers but extremely physically adventurous. They were constantly climbing everything, I had to switch them out of cribs and into beds by age 2, and they were frustrated they couldn’t communicate well and were so so loud about it.

That said, it was also one of the cutest ages and, while physically draining, they were at peak adorableness.

I’m finding 2 is way better than 1. She’s an easy kid, but 1 was so boring for me.

I will add that it not only depends on the kid... it depends on the parent.

I found 1 to 1.5 the hardest for both my kids and I think that's partly because I had a hard time with them not being able to communicate and the ensuing whining that went along with it. That was intolerable to me.
