As long as you don’t call her Cathy or Kathy who cares?

K is the trashiest letter of the alphabet.

Yes, I certainly think trashy when I think of Katharine Hepburn and Katharine Graham.

Catherine if you want her to go by Catherine. Katherine if you plan to nickname her Kate/Katie/Kit/etc.

depends on the last name. Obviously if there is a "c" in the last name, go with Catherine, and if there is a "k" go for Katherine.

If there is not, check the middle name.

if nothing there, and you are really indifferent, look at your DH and your name, and siblings

I like Katherine because if you’re going by Kate for some reason it bugs me to have Catherine and then K for Kate. Should be Cate for goodness sake!

It is more graceful! Great description.

Another vote for Catherine.

How did your parents react? Do they remember to use the new spelling?

I don't think they had any particular reaction. They occasionally spell it the original way but nearly always get it right.

Definitely Catherine. Prettier, more graceful.

I feel quite agnostic between the two but if forced to pick I choose C because it reads a smidge more classic.
