75% of students are from outside of Ohio per cds
Per navience it’s 66%.Regardless, better than I thought. But that is just one part of the marketing. It’s ranking stuck in the 40s doesn’t really reflect the school’s weight.
What do you think their ranking should be, and how would marketing help it?
At least 25-30, transform its regional image
Regional image?
very strong image in Ohio & Midwest but not so elsewhere/nationally
Really? What is your basis for saying this? I grew up outside of Cleveland and had absolutely no idea how good of a school it actually was until I moved out of the Midwest. It definitely didn't have the allure of say, Ohio State or Miami for above average students. If anything, I'd say it is very underrated within the state of Ohio -- most of the students neither hail from Ohio nor stay there after graduation (which is unfortunate).

OMG. Could you do any research before you blurt out these ridiculous statements?
The name is the combined name of 2 colleges that merged: Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve College. Western Reserve was named after the area where it was located , the western reserve. People who choose their college based on the name, should reconsider whether college is right for them.
Right. The “western reserve” roots go back to the 18th century.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Can anyone weigh in on how Case may be for a computer science major these days?
Solid Engineering/Computer/Data Science program. Engineering has always been strong at Case Western.

He's very strong academically, will probably have stats for a top school but I know many of the are just a lottery at this point and we need some likely schools to take a look at. He doesn't want a huge school but also does not want to be isolated, would prefer in or close to a city. Undecided about a major: maybe poli sci or econ but also likes math/physics. We want to look at Pitt, Oberlin, Washington U.
Has anyone here seen both Wash. U. and Case Western?
I went to Wash. U., and my instinctive advice has been, “Focus more on Case Western than Wash. U.; it’s just like Wash. U., except that regular good students can get in,” but I’ve never been anywhere near Cleveland.
For a good student who could major in biology but could slide into English or biology, is there any reason to favor Wash. U. over Case Western?
Well, your own written English is terrible, so I'm not sure how to interpret this.
NP. I'd rather make some grammar mistakes than be a POS who insults a well-meaning person asking for help.
No one can understand what your post meant. It's word salad.
