Our school’s College Counseling Office recommends “likely” schools as those with a >40% acceptance rate, no matter what your SAT or GPA, etc are.

OP here. We won’t be applying for FA.


But why would your DC want to go to MD? (Not a rhetorical question — might be related to major.). UMD isn’t any better or more prestigious than the “lesser” UCs and it'd be more expensive and harder for a CA resident to get into than one of them.

Make sure your kid submits an art portfolio, OP.
Job? Active in a faith community? Supplemental recs from manager @job and strong essays + short answer responses boosted my kid’s application.

I would also recommend Cal Poly-SLO or -Pomona. What about safety reciprocal tuition @ WUE schools (wiche.com)?
