I only heard of this relatively recently, but everytime I bring it up to somebody else they're like "umm duh!". I had no idea. don't get me wrong - I enjoy the pictures so I have them in my main level since it's my house...just wondering why this is a "bad" thing?
Traditional etiquette rules exist to make others feel welcome and considered. Having big family pictures up is braggy and implies to guests you have lots of fun experiences that don't include them. This is an old WASP mentality, all those old rules come from that principle. People don't really follow them anymore. Like not using certain words.
