A lot of people broadcast their affiliation because they want to be seen to be on "the right side," whatever side that might be.

She thinks you agree with her because you’ve never expressed any dissent when she’s shared her views. She doesn’t really know you that well because you keep your views under wraps. If you’re happy in the friendship, who cares? Just enjoy being friends and keep on keeping on.

People mistake me for conservative a lot. I have literally never voted R (would describe myself as pro-market/pro-business centrist). Reasons include: DH's pickup truck; working in financial industry; being from the South; dressing up; having a child young (26); living in Alexandria; not being overly "PC"/woke; and simply not hating conservatives.

Maybe she meant "us" and in her family. Not you and her.

If he/she doesn't use those ridiculous pronouns or adheres to liberal "rules". If he/she doesn't speak about politics or their ideas about it publicly when other colleagues are trashing republicans to maintain professionalism in the workplace.
