Hard to understand what a CT could find that an MRI would not find.

Many years ago I had hearing loss in one ear (developed over time and I suddenly noticed it) and the MRI found a tumor on the acoustic nerve. Sounds like you don't have that, which is good, even though you're frustrated that you don't have an answer.

yes I had daily, but not constant, tinnitus for 4 months after 2nd shot. I'm not sure if my hearing recovered. I suspect somehow the shot caused inflammation to that area or something. I'd assume steroids could help

Yes it is. Tell ENT it is an emergency, sudden hearing loss. Foxy Brown had viral sudden hearing loss. Required surgery in her case, but I think she wasn't seen right away

the R&B singer. she woke up one day and couldn't hear for a year, both ears. She got surgical treatment. I think it was viral

FWIW, I have had it for several years. Stress makes it louder. (The blood pressure elevation.) Some people take SSRIs??? for it to calm your whole system down. I've just learned to live with it. I don't even hear it anymore unless I'm by myself in a quiet room.

Sorry you're having to deal with this!

My mom had similar symptoms and her sinuses were packed full which caused her vertigo. She took antibiotics for 2-3 weeks and now feels better.

I’m sorry you’re going through this OP. I’ve read that CBT can help with tinnitus. Just throwing it out there…

Nothing has worked- oral steroids didn’t work, injections not working but they do say it might take a few weeks, neurologist and ENT saying “you’ll have to adapt.” I can’t live with this sound in my head 24/7. I can’t ever not know silence AND be deaf on one side. How do people deal with this???

OP again. Well, that didn't go too well. A week (so far) of steroids and no change. The doctor today wasn't optimistic. He sort of had that resigned, "well, crap" look about him. Re-did the hearing test, and still zero, so they're moving to injections into the ear "as your last hope."

I have an MRI scheduled this weekend, and he hopes obviously to gain some knowledge from that, but that's sort of a hard thing to "hope" to have a finding in. At the moment, he think it's permanent nerve damage.

Anyone get these injections and have any success?? This is just so fast and sudden and out of nowhere....
