Dead true. Girls needed to get out and play in front of colleges in top brackets, not just go through the motions of a long season.

They definitely favored kids (dad's were coaches) and lost a lot of players because of this. And now they are losing in u13 and a lot of their former players (including former coaches kids) are on better performing ECNL teams.

We were at BRYC for three years.
BN (Jn Academy Dir U09-U12) is consistently technical until U12. If you like possession, he is good with drilling, ect.... To sum up...the older girls leaving, Mikey taking some with him, and youngers having a gap in development at U12 have placed BRYC where they are now.
There are SOME good coaches in Girls Prep Academy progressing the talent THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN but there is alot of work to be done.... obviously. I think the good ones just stay in their lane and enjoy the coaching.
That said, there was a good coach hired this year for one of the Jn Academy teams so perhaps they are rebuilding slowly....I dont recall which team he is coach of.
IMO and from the inside, that is what has happened with BRYC.
BRYC also has an issue with favoritism. These coaches play the same kids over and over (especially during the player pool years) despite it being pretty clear that other kids had better endurance, skill etc. You can't expect results with the same old pomp and circumstance.

Why in the world would anyone go to a bryc practice tryout? Join the worst performing ecnl club in the nation or go to an better ecnl-r team with better coaching and development for half the cost?

It used to be a strong and respected club, but it just isn't anymore. They are still playing in an elite league, but they are bottom of the table across every age group.
This is a result of the TD all the way down through the coaches. I believe there are quality players in the club, but the staff are the ones letting the club down.

I guess the administration just doesn’t care. Reminds me of the eat in Pizza Hut. It was great when you were a kid in the 90s, it hasn’t changed since then, why not like it as an adult?

Is this for real? No way they don’t have enough girls to fill one team. If so, bryc is done for. The writing is on the wall. Can’t win. No u13 coming for the draw of ecnl. I’m sure McLean, vda, loudoun and Arlington had 40+ show up for u13 ecnl

I would not be happy to be paying the ECNL price tag to lose every game. The u13 girls had a weekend trip to SC and did not score a single goal and half the team is actually u12 because they couldn’t fill the roster.

If she is the best player, she isn't going to improve by training with players less skilled than her. And if she is one of the weaker players, she won't get as much playing time. What are you basing that on?
Not PP, but I thought one of the bridge teams in that age group won all their NCSL games in the spring. That would seem to indicate something positive, if not for the Elite side.
