As the PP who asked whether couple time was code, thanks for the clarification.
Our kids are older (sort of: 9, 7, and 5) and we still do relatively early bedtimes for all three, between 7:30 and 8pm. The five year old usually sacks out quickly, the seven year old will read or draw for a bit and and the nine year old will do whatever (play music, draw, read, etc.), but all in their rooms before they actually go to bed. DH and I usually watch a show together and hang out - G-rated couple time - and look forward to it. Occasionally a kid will wander downstairs and need redirection, but we still have plenty of time together.
This is reassuring, thanks! I predict DD will probably stick with an earlyish bedtime for a long time -- esp when she has a set time to get to school in the morning; right now daycare is just "drop off anytime by 9:30" so there's no real rush -- so I may be worrying for nothing.

As the PP who asked whether couple time was code, thanks for the clarification.

And maybe your husband likes to go to bed by 10 but if he really values couple time as much as you do then he can stretch himself to stay up a bit longer with you.

You are getting lots of time now. Way more than most people. But in the future, movies and playdates and sleepovers and dropoff activities. DH and I drop out kids at orchestra practice and go out for donuts and coffee every Saturday. The kids are none the wiser.
