Americans owned slaves and were one of the countries that subjugated the government of China during colonial occupation. Great Britain practiced colonialism and slave trade all over the world and only gave up their last territory in 1997. I don't think there are any French cars sold in the US. What else is left?
The difference is that German car companies enslaved Jews, & Japanese car companies enslaved POWs (American, Chinese). American car companies have good human rights record.

I have always had great experiences with Honda’s so that is my brand of preference at the moment.
Honda’s have proven (at least to me!) to be very reliable vehicles and mechanics usually like working on them.
I had a Mercury (subsidiary of Ford) that became a huge money pit as well as a headache after it hit the 100,000 mile mark so I likely will never purchase a Ford again.
I had a Kia that was a piece of junk - but a Hyundai that was decent so would purchase Hyundai over Kia.

Why do you want to remove your doors (unless you are a teen whose parents bought them a Jeep)?

Ford royally screwed up the launch of the 2020 Explorer because "roving" groups of employees at one plant were intimidating other workers and sexual misconduct was rampant, the company swept it under the rug and failed to address it for years, causing massive turnover in one plant, leaving piles of Explorers partially assembled, then they sent them to another plant in Chicago to be finished...surprise surprise, that model was riddled with quality issues but nonetheless, Ford sold them to customers anyways!Anonymous wrote:American car companies have good human rights record.
Frankly it surprises me how many Americans still blindly support "American" automakers when these days all automakers are global companies selling and building across the world. The Lexus ES is made in Georgetown, KY. The Ram 1500 is made in Saltillo, Mexico. But people still buy the Ram and will proudly say they are "buying American."

But I come from a car dealership family and until I moved away in my 20s I drove Mustang convertibles, DeLoreans, Broncos depending on season and availability. Sometimes it was a Ford Probe or Taurus, Suziki Sidekick, so not always luxurious. I lost the new car excitement.
