I am 5'3" and my DH is 5'10". My son is 5'9". We are Asians so that is a really good height for us,

I consider their heights as average. Neither tall nor short. I think 6' and up to 6'2" is a nice tall height. More than that people are too tall.

DH is 6’4 and he’s black. I think the negative side of it is people can view him as more threatening due to this combo. Also other, smaller, things; flying is more uncomfortable, he can’t fit well in some small cars, etc

I think DH mostly loves being 6’4. He can reach tall things and see over crowds. People generally don’t mess with him. There are cars he won’t fit into and it’s harder to buy him clothes (but the internet has made that way better!) and as a PP said, plane seats are really tough for him. But overall a net positive. We have a Cal King bed (longer than a standard king and a little narrower) and we love it.

Any theatre built more than 20 years ago is a miserable experience

Lots of very tall men in my family. They mostly were big-boned as well (not necessarily overweight, just solid builds). Lots of feet and back problems. My grandfather and some of my uncles also struggled as they aged, since most caretakers can't handle that size and weight when assisting them.
That said, they mostly enjoyed being tall and the positive attention it brought them.

My husband is also 6'5'' and you have to be strategic to not hang off a king sized bed. You can schooch the mattress a bit away from the headboard.

I’m the top pp. We’ve slept in beds with foot boards in hotels, b&bs, etc. The problem is that he doesn’t scooch. He lays diagonally and takes over my space (I’m fairly tall myself.) Oh well. Just one of the compromises of marriage. I like him better than a sleigh bed.

One of my brothers is 6’8”. As others have mentioned: airplane seats, cars, and clothes are all problematic. He’s very thin too, so clothes are especially hard as he’s not “big” and tall. Theater/stadium seating can be rough. I have a brother who is 6’5” and is big & tall - he has it a little easier with clothing at least.

My 11 year old is 5’9” and hasn’t started his real growth spurt yet, and we struggle with clothes for him - men’s clothes are not cut for a boys body. Also - people have always expected him to be more mature/older than he is, which can be problematic.

I have a family member who is 6’6”. Years ago, he won a vintage Corvette in a raffle and could barely fit in it. He was pretty bummed.
