Yes. People think their 13 year old is the next Alex Morgan. She more like orphan Annie.
This is a dangerous reality for sure. So many aspiring soccer hopefuls, fully pursuing the soccer dream to go pro, so much so that their education and outside of soccer employability has not been developed. And who the soccer run does to an end, off to the unemployment office they go.
Heck, I was just watching a discovery channel show on Barge Crews and the deckhand in charge of something was a pro soccer player in Portugal. He was only 24 and now he works manual labor for a living. --Do not let your kids become soccer bums!
Some parents have their kids homeschooling or going to BS schools.. for what? Lol..
I love this. "I got Straight A's at Mom and Dad High School and can do keepy uppy for 30 minutes straight in my front yard. Can I have the job?
Well, hey there! So, I attend RSA, y’all. Today’s big accomplishment? Learning how to draw SpongeBob—because what says academic excellence better than a square-pantsed sponge? Oh, and I spent the rest of my day with NE, mastering scissors—not the kind that cut paper, mind you, but the fancy soccer kind. Yep, I’m practically a professional now.I do all the same drills as my teammates at practice, but here’s the kicker: I’m doing them all day long with the same coaches. And bless my heart, I get to hang out with those DC United kids who play soccer and go to school for free, unlike me, whose family’s wallet cries actual tears every time we write another check. Isn’t that just peachy? Anyway, I gotta skedaddle. My online school assignment’s calling my name—today’s topic? The Smurfs. Yes, ma’am, nothing screams “life lessons” like tiny blue folks living in mushrooms. Alright now, y’all take care, and don’t work too hard!
