Heard the same. When 9 out of 13/14 kids leave - that is not a good sign, and reflects poorly on the coach and the club!

1. A neighboring club gets ECNL, ECRL, or GA for girls
2. ECNL demands BSC does ECNL for girls and boys
3. Virginia changes to fall for high school soccer so players can cross the river easier
4. Financial or personnel scandal

It will be a split club at best. BSC is already way down on the boys side. No major pros have been developed in years. Very poor leadership on that side and that will continue. The boys are willingly moving to Achilles, Armour, NVA and SYC with no worries about commutes.
On the girls side, once DE hits the USYNT radar after playing MLS Next a year up next year, people will see that girls have options pre-puberty in MoCo if you are really trying to maximize a young ladies talent. It won’t affect the elite MoCo mafia but it will impact 2-3 of the top girls in each age group that BSC used to traditionally get and are USYNT caliber.
The marketplace has changed. BSC will still be the home to Ivy/Power 4 commits so it won’t go away. It will just be the MoCo mafia niche instead of THE DMV place for elite soccer it once. It is not going away, but you are fooling yourself if you don’t already think BSC is down already.

By making his Bethesda team practice in VA. It's already happening.
