Do you know what China, Japan and Europe do with the dollars they earn from their trade surplus? They buy US treasuries. Those treasuries fund the US government because the government runs a budget deficit every year.

Yes.
Because no one has any money to buy anything. Therefore nothing is being imported and the trade deficit has gone down. Trump’s obsession with the trade deficit is nonsensical.

Hassett: "When you look at jobs numbers & see they're below 100, the below 100 thing isn't as disturbing as in the past bc a lot of it is reduced govt employment & we're deporting illegals. If you account for that, the expected jobs number for a strong month is a lot closer to what we're seeing."

So if you don’t count all the jobs lost, the jobs numbers look pretty good.

I currently have a trade deficit with my dentist. I am constantly buying services from him and he NEVER comes to my house to buy dental care. Don’t even get me started on Home Depot not coming to my house to buy screws or American Airlines not flying on my plane!

I was tired of it, so put a tariff on it all! Now those jerks have to charge me more for good and services!! Ha, suckers! I’ll pay more, buy less, and get less for my money!
