You're allowed to define your experiences. That doesn't mean you get to sign my kids up to die in your war. Six people is too many. If you'd like to die fighting the Iranian regime, no one is going to stop you.

This is simply TDS and delusions about Israel.

Why don’t people understand there are a lot of Dems who are ACTUALLY peaceniks? Who protested the Iraq war. Who protested Gaza because it was clear it went way beyond strategy. Women and children suffer in war. Soldiers die for interests that aren’t always clear. There is nothing good about it.

The irony being that Trump was supposed to be a master negotiator who would keep us out of war. He is a destabilizing force.

No one likes war. I also don’t like the wanton terror Islam brings to every nation.

so this is a war on Islam?

Islam has declared war on everyone that isn’t Islamic. We are just showing them that ain’t gonna play.

For those young’uns out there, Iran was pretty Western in the 1970s

So you can impose Western style government on Iran, but Iran cannot choose their own style of government, and if Iran tried to impose their regime in the US, that’d be bad too.

They already have a western style government in Iran. The ayatollah is a symbolic figure like the pope not the president. They have A parliament, elections, and a president. He’s still alive.

What it seems people want to change is culture and make it more Westwen for women and gays. Again, that’s not something you can just change by bombing the place and killing their schoolchildren. wtf is wrong with America? We have our own problems and can barely protect our own schools from lunatic school shooters.

It’s their country. They can have whatever culture they want, changing the regime won’t change the culture. And that is a form of colonialism.

AND they keep causing problems around the world. Until they stop, we will stomp on them.

Israel is causing problems around the world. Iran minds its own business. It indicated no threat to the United States whatsoever. In fact, they were open to negotiation multiple times as recent as last week. Whenever the us and Iran get close to a breakthrough, Bibi bombs Iran. It’s sick. What can you expect from the man who killed the Israeli prime minister Rabin? If he can kill leftist Jews, do you think he cares about anything else? He’s the anti peace villain for the Oslo accords and two state solution and he’s anti peace and threw a fit about the Obama Iran deal. Any sort of deal makes his ill. And for what? Israelis are dying too right now and are fleeing the country in numbers higher than ever. What’s the point of all this if Israelis don’t even want to live in their country?

And yes, it is ongoing in the minds and hearts of Islamic extremists, which should be obvious to anyone who watches the news. I doubt that's what this war is about, tho. It's to cover up the Epstein files and to kowtow to Isreal so they don't release the dirt they have on Trump.

Nah, more like Zionists have been convincing Christians to attack Muslims and also do it themselves. It's no wonder that the overwhelming majority of Islamophobia is propogated by Zionists backed organizations. I'm doing so, they can justify their slaughter of Palestinians and Arabs across the middle east as they aim to become the dominant power. Their goal is to make every Arab country either submissive to its will or so destabilized that they are powerless.

They have openly boasted their plans

As such, the biggest threat is actually Israel and their takeover and control of our government for nefarious reasons

Yeah, and guess who wanted regime change then? Israel/America. As soon as the shah mentioned he wanted Iran to get nuclear weapons, the Islamic revolution began (helped by the United States and Israel). Let’s not forget who brought the ayatollahs there in the first place. Israel does not want ANY other nuclear power there because then Palestinians can leverage a friendship with a nuclear ally

Exactly. It’s also a proven fact that war and death makes people angrier and more right wing not more pro western and moderate. This failed in Afghanistan and Iraq. ISIS and the return of a more hardline taliban were the results after 3 trillion dollars wasted and more than 5,000 American soldiers dead. Trump used to always bring this up as well. I don’t know what happened to him. He is too ashamed to even hold his head up. He knows he sold maga out

Funny how we didn’t have any enemies in the Middle East till 1948.

Maybe they’re declaring war on everyone that’s attacking them.

You forget about WWI? Ottomans fought with the Central Powers.

Not to mention the mess during WWII, Suez crisis, etc.

Hasn’t exactly been a paradigm of peace and tranquility.

That’s what it always was and Christians are supposed to fight it. 10 million Jews cannot fight 2 billion Muslims but 2.5 billion Christian’s can.

Look at the size of Israel and look at the size of Iran. They would lose terribly if they fought a real ground war. they cannot even win a ground war in Gaza or Lebanon. They almost lost their country to hamas on motorbikes and paper kites. Israel is just an Air Force not an army and real war and regime change is fought on the ground. They used Isis last time to fight their ground war in Syria and now the guy who helped is now president of Syria. Seriously

Islam has been at war with Christians and Jews for 1400 years. If you don't know that you don't know history. And yes, it is ongoing in the minds and hearts of Islamic extremists, which should be obvious to anyone who watches the news. I doubt that's what this war is about, tho. It's to cover up the Epstein files and to kowtow to Isreal so they don't release the dirt they have on Trump.

I am a lifelong progressive Democrat. Typically, progressives center the narratives of people directly affected and allow them to define their own oppression. But now that they see an opening to criticize Israel (75% of this thread is foaming-at-the mouth, over-the-top, ISIS-level anti-Israel conspiracy propaganda), suddenly what actual Iranians say and feel doesn't matter to them at all. I don't care that Israel was involved here. I simply do not care. If they're the ones that create a catalyst for change in my country that ends up freeing 93 million people from the hellscape they've been living in, great. You people are so BLINDED by your maniacal hatred of Israel and to a lesser extent Trump (who I'm no fan of generally) that you can't perceive the absolute absurd hypocrisy of your position.

It's fine to object to this on the basis that it's not America's affair and they should stay out of it, because tax dollars or whatever BS (so far, only six American service members have (tragically) died, so I really don't think it's concern for our troops). Immoral position to take in the face of this regime, but ok. That's not what most of this thread is doing, though. People are instead moralizing at actual Iranians and pretending to care about the girls school that was bombed (unconfirmed that this was even Israel/the US and not Iran itself) or the future of Iran. Where were you when this regime murder FORTY THOUSAND OF ITS OWN PEOPLE?? When it tortured dissidents in secret prisons, threw acid on women for not covering their hair, literally went into hospitals where protesters were being treated and shot them point blank in the head? You don't give one flying f about Iranian people. Please don't pretend otherwise.

As far as I can tell, so far, all America has done is kill (extremely justifiably) a bunch of monstrous butchers and weakened their grip on power. This may or may not lead to regime change, but I can tell you for damn certain the regime is not going to be able to carry on the same way after this. Absolute WORST case scenario, the regime persists but its nuclear ambitions are done for and it becomes more friendly to US interests.

Americans are good people who share a common bond. It's our corrupt political system making us look terrible on the world stage.

Well that’s their country and their religion. They chose that, they’re fine with that. Doesn’t mean you need to support war.

You missed the every nation part

So.. how is bombing Iran going to change that?
