Many were asking but doesn't seem like it was answered. It could be "their culture" thing. Maybe they were or within their community.
Stop replying to yourself. You are the poster who keeps bringing this up and sock-puppeting so you can make thinly veiled racist statements.
Did an Indian-American take your job?

The friend apparently also was still there, and just got his passport back today.

Thanks for posting the link. It's been weirdly hard to find a detailed article. And some articles have been wrong, saying he is free to leave. Ahem, NY Post printed the wrong info!

Lots of Latin drama and shouting in the courtroom. The DR AG is personally involved, if she wanted his passport returned today probably would have happened.
More to play out.
I think they're just worried about the resort's liability and the impact on tourism, would be very convenient if the American boy were to blame.
At any rate, she is the fourth drowning victim at that same resort this year, and only one of the bodies was recovered.

What would you like them to do?
It's a question. Anyone Knowledgeable on this, certainly not the PP.
Of course it's a question. What authority do you think Indian officials have regarding this?
That was the question? If you don't know, move on![]()

On what basis? They don’t have a leg to stand on. Their daughter made some bad decisions.
May be against the resort, for lack of back up power, no security on the beach and bartenders not cutting supply after people had more than what their body weight could handle.

Lying DR prosecutors. I don’t get their end game. The parents gave them a huge opportunity to close the case, at lease against this “witness”.
For $??
