You have to agree to testify before invoking executive privilege.

They might try. But then again, if the NSC doesn't quash his book, then it's going to come out and make the GOP look bad.

Trump hates snitches. He has that in common with mobsters and drug kingpins.

Who on “the left” are you supposing leaked Bolton’s manuscript that had been floating around the White House for a month?

The timing of the book would have no bearing on the timing of the trial. Regardless of when, Bolton would have to make himself available to the Senate trial. He was never going to stonewall them, then turn around and say it in a book months after the trial. Doing that would be the ultimate f-u to America. Either you keep the secret or you don't.

He's made it abundantly clear he will testify if subpoenaed. You can't just show up and testify; you need to be subpoenaed. So now it's up to the Senate.

I am curious as to how NYT got the entire book, when both House prosecutors and White House defense were unaware of its exact contents.

It's been sitting on Trump's desk since Dec. 30.

Someone in the White House leaked it.

Bolton team is accusing that WH made copies of it and circulated...

I love that there are moles in the WH.

Bless them. It's the sole justification for staying there.

It was probably Anonymous et al.!!!!

Had you read this already when you posted?

“John F. Kelly, the former chief of staff to President Trump, told an audience in Florida on Monday night that he believed the revelations in an upcoming book by John R. Bolton, the president’s former national security adviser, and thought the Senate should call witnesses in the impeachment trial.”
