Oh, please. The idea that it's absolutely necessary for every woman to shower every day of their period is absurd. Maybe especially, um, juicy women find it necessary in order to feel and smell clean, but certainly not all women.

I’m sorry, blood gets mixed in the pubic hair if wearing a pad. It also clings to parts of the skin around the vagina. That’s what creates that period smell. Don’t tell me it’s ok to not shower daily when on your period. Gross!

If you are waxed it is a lot easier to keep this area clean and free of period smell.

I don't know what kind of periods you're having with copious amounts of smelly blood everywhere....for me, blood doesn't get into the skin around my vagina when I have my period. Insert tampon, pull out tampon, wipe with toilet paper. Maybe wipe with a cottonelle wet wipe for good measure. Done. Having my period does not automatically mean that I absolutely must shower every day during said period.

I am on the oily smelly side and my parents both had dry skin and dry hair and rarely sweated. I had to fight to take a shower daily.

It always interesting to me how strong people's feelings are about bathing. How often, what time etc. My MIL was appalled that my daughter showers at night. Where she comes from, everyone showers in the morning to wake up. How can showers be to wind down?

My kids bathe as needed. If they have been out all day and in a pool, a bath is needed. If we have been home, and especially in the winter months, a bath can be skipped. One of my kids has excema and it stays under control if we cut her showers down in the winter to 2 or 3 times a week. The rest of the time we wet wipe. That's what the doc recommended. My mother was appalled at this, of course.

pp here. i have been very ill lately and could barely move this weekend. i am a single mom with no family to help so things are rough right now but luckily my friend stopped by to bring over food for the kids and i.

you guessed it though. since i was not well enough to get them to swim class yes unfortunately my kids did miss swim this weekend which means that they didn't get their weekly shower.

Can you stretch your imagination to think that there's a spectrum of people, some of whom on one side need to bathe often to avoid smelling, or having oily skin / hair, and some on the other side for whom a daily shower is actually damaging to their dry skin?
