It's b/c of the NRA lobby that we don't have this already. Seriously, even after Newtown, Congress was too wedded to the money instead of doing the right thing.

If the gun lovers would just allow some moderate restrictions to prevent shitbird dumbasses like this from getting guns, then we'd all have fewer senseless deaths and less hatred of guns. The problem is that the NRA and all the politicians they've bought will resist any and all reasonable regulation on a theory of slippery slope. If they won't allow reasonable steps to lessen senseless gun deaths, then the rest of us need to come together to solve the problem with more strict regulation. They won't act like responsible adults, so maybe they're not allowed to sell their dangerous products anymore.
