Exactly, PP. This isn't about normal curiosity or lack of access to other people. The only thing the isolation did was protect him from being discovered as a predator. For centuries adolescent boys have been curious about sex and have not had ready access to consensual relationships, either because of the mores of the time, or because they're shy, or geeky, or whatever. Yet the vast majority don't molest girls.

This is my thought as well. One time is bad, but the repeated molestation and abuse shows a lack of remorse and very broken moral compass.
