Montgomery County kids are in school longer than FCPS kids are. Montgomery County also has 30-60 minutes less of specials each day, so more time the kids are in the classroom. I'm not sure of the teacher's contracts though and how they compare.

Have you worked as a PE teacher and an English teacher? I am a Social Studies teacher and believe we should receive the same salary. It is ignorant to think one content should make more than another. How would you know what is involved in someone else's job, unless you have walked in their shoes?
An English teacher complained about the disparity to me. He had many hours of grading after school compared to the gym teacher.
High school English teacher here. When final exams roll around in June, the gym teachers are scheduling their tee off times at the golf course and we're here grading exam essays. It's different.
