Could be adult children. If so, they'd be 40ish.

If Joanna and Calvin are under ten...

Both are family names, perhaps one grandparent from each side. You live in Ashburn, married young. First generation college educated and one of you would have been a "non traditional" college student (older, working, college p/t, after military service) and neither are originally from here. Take that back. One of you grew up in Maryland, but not suburban MD. Further out, like Cumberland.

Both DW and DH work full time. Incredibly hard workers and incredibly grateful for all that you have. A little bit country, but that's not a bad thing. kind of hate the rat race that surrounds you. Dream of moving away. Want your kids to have what you didn't, so you spoil them...is that wrong? Hell, no. They'll have it way easier than you did. You fly an American flag daily.

LOL, Jo and Calvin's mom here. You are 100% wrong but I loved your guesses and wouldn't mind copping to that life, it's sweet.

They are both late teens, BTW, and the only part you were close on was where I grew up -- a small town in Pennsylvania, but moved to the Midwest 30 years ago. ?

You are a Kennedy. You know your way around a rosary and a good gin gimlet. You are comfortable using the argot of sailing and dressage in conversation without sounding pretentious (because it is natural for you). You know what "argot" means and how to pronounce it, even if sometimes you slur it a bit due to affinity for aforementioned gimlets. You and your always-washed children smell faintly of expensive lotion. You often wear linen, because you're not the one to wash and iron your clothes. I may have gone to college with you. I probably even liked you and you me, because you are well-mannered but not stuffy (which I find refreshing) and I am the second generation of a redneck family to go to a fancy undergraduate institution (which you find curious).

To the responder PP with a fabulous sense of humor (yes, you, the one from the redneck family): I ADORE YOU!

Haha me too!

Ok, Bridget's mom or dad (probably Mom), I'll play along:

Irish Catholic heritage ( duh) I'd say named after grandmother or GG who immigrated from the Motherland, but that's like shooting fish in a barrel. Named after my Gram. Yes to Irish Catholic, though that's fairly obvious.

Unbelievable how many people can't spell Bridget's name; even saying, "BRIDGET. Just 'bridge' with a 't' " is met with confused looks. No, not Bridgid (too Irish and your family has been here for over 100 years) and not Bridgette. At home, you call her Bridge or Bridgey. Most common misspelling is Bridgette, family hasn't been here for even a 100 years, let alone over 100.

Her middle name is Catherine. Or Rose. Or Claire. Middle name isn't Irish at all, rather after her paternal great grandmother.

Conservative. Republican. Dad is a man's man and handsome and funny. Mom is cute and shy and wants a boy and semi-secretly, at least three more children. At least. I think Mom is the fair skinned Irish lass and probably named Meghan or Liz.
Very close to my name. Just the spelling is off. No more kids for me, tyvm. One and done.

Your favorite literary genre is historical fiction. You say you loved Wolf Hall, but secretly you lean towards the smuttier stuff.

Good guess, but I actually love Joan Didion and Phillip Roth (along with David Sedaris and sometimes David Foster Wallace). Gaius becasue I'm a nerd for ancient Rome and Fiona because it's a good Irish name.

HBO's Rome had a Gaius -- Smutty and nerdy all rolled up into one.

Battlestar Galactica had a Gaius too. Nerdy, yes, but light on the smut.

huh? He was constantly getting it on with the cylon chick (inside his head, mostly).

to the PP who already recognized this - I miss BSG, as well.

Who cares? Pretty sure OP didn't try to trademark the idea.

I care. The thread title was identical. I didn't read the thread but I am sure OP copied the response too.

PP, if you really give a shit about this, get a life! This thread is funny and the psychic PP who is nailing the personas is my new favorite person!
