355K with a now HHI of 100K (started at 35K) not including home equity. My Dad put my baby sitting money in a IRA at age 16. I also will get a decent pension.

Around $200k. 40 years old. I only contributed the minimum to get employer matching when I was young and self-invested the rest. Have an additional $600k, not including home equity.

45, $1.1M. Only half in 401K/IRA, but it's all intended for retirement.

50= 800k

If you can put up with the high cost of living in the DC area and save, retirement for folks in this town looks pretty damn bright. We can move almost anywhere else in the country and have very cushy retirements.
