Memphis, TN. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but we've found a great community and bought a beautiful house on a great street. We're really enjoying our new life.

Me: $77k, DH: $50k

Mortgage of $2k per month
Car payment of $350 per month (0 interest)
No other debt
Nanny of $1200 per month which will double soon when #2 is born. (part time and was a nanny share until recently)
Saving about $1200-$1400 per month right now (retirement, college, emergency fund)

Hoping for a big annual raise before childcare for 2 kids is needed! If not, we probably won't be able to save as much!

Me: $30K (higher ed)
DH: $105 (engineer)

Mortgage: $1400 a month
Private school for one child: $1K a month

We moved out of state for a job opportunity for my husband a few months ago. We've nearly cut our salary in half from where it was 3 or 4 year ago, but we live in a much nicer house (our dream house in our dream neighborhood) and feel more secure financially than we ever have. I miss culture and good restaurants, but I love not worrying all the time about money and long commutes.
