Maybe the Notre Dame AD should ask WWRD. Although not certain, I suspect that Rudy would transfer.

Notre Dame's AD (athletic director) doesn't know when to quit. The ND AD is now asserting that after the two season opening losses, that ND football had the most dominant 10 games in the history of college football. Notre Dame's AD is making Notre Dame football the laughingstock of college football. Beating a hapless Syracuse team 70-7 is pathetic and an act of unsportsmanship, not an indicator of dominant superiority in any positive sense.

The Big 12 Conference commissioner has publicly stated that the Notre Dame AD's reaction to missing out on the 12 team CFP as egregious.

Notre Dame's reaction is an embarrassment to the University of Notre Dame, its football team, and its fans. Very sad, but not surprising as this is just another example of the arrogance of Notre Dame football in the world of college football.

The Notre Dame AD has badmouthed the ACC & Jim Phillips, the highly respected head of the ACC. This is the type of behavior that suggests that the Notre Dame AD should seek employment elsewhere. The ACC saved ND football during Covid and went to great lengths to accommodate the extreme demands by by Notre Dame football. Without its ACC & Big Ten Conference opponents, Notre Dame football would be of little interest to the world of college football and its fans.

Why is the University of Notre Dame continuing to allow its AD to continue destroying Notre Dame's reputation ?

Next season, 2026-2027 season, Notre Dame football plays an even weaker schedule than the current season. ND opens against Big Ten Wisconsin and closes against Big Ten USC--both solid opponents; however, the 10 opponents in between these two are less impressive except for the November game against the University of Miami. If ND football goes 10-2 next year, ND should not be offered a spot in the CFP.

Doubtful that Notre Dame football team's strength of schedule will be among the top 50 in the nation. Based on ND football's opponents, ND football would be destroyed playing in either the Big Ten Conference or in the SEC. ND football should be taking this opportunity to commit fully to the ACC. At least as a Power 4 Conference champion--if that occurs--ND football should have a reasonable likelihood of making the CFP playoff under new rules next year designed to benefit ND football.

I want ND football to become relevant again, but the ND football program really needs to step up its competition level.

Agree that if HC Freeman leaves, so will the recruits & returnees.

But, what good does it do for Notre Dame to have stellar recruiting classes if ND football cannot beat top teams and plays an overwhelmingly mediocre schedule ?
