Generals and admirals are in their 50s. Men’s bodies change with age too. And they do not need to be as fit as someone on the front lines. Their value at that point in their career isn’t their body, it’s their brain. But neither Trump nor Hegseth would know anything about that.

Then they should resign their commissions. Regardless of how “right” the brass may be, they serve at the pleasure of the democratically elected civilian leadership of the country. If they really believe this is an abomination, then they need to resign.
