Everyone local spells it "Centerville"

The school is actually "Centreville" with a flipped R and E? How fancy.

It's funny that someone pitched a fit on another thread when a poster referred to Centreville HS as CHS rather than CVHS yet now you're claming the locals don't bother to spell the school's name correctly. It's not like "Centreville" was coined by FCPS.

So from Wikipedia, maybe some just prefer - in 1792, the town of Centerville (er) was established and then later spelled Centreville (re)!

Reid and the SB are so far up their own asses about the boundary changes, they can’t even fathom that they wouldn’t be widely supported because “every school is great!” And “FCPS is world class!” I really don’t think it’s because of threats over boundary changes at all at this point. Even if they go nuclear with the boundaries, they’ll still assume that the vast majority of people support it.

Extreme pro-lifers are scary and have made a lot of threats on people’s lives and have actually killed people in the past. I think they got a heads up that the story was going to come out and quickly moved to hire security. Part of me feels bad because the girl’s abortion happened in 2021, before Reid even got here. But on the other hand, this is what happens when you have a bunch of “school social workers” around to push their agendas and thumb their noses at the actual laws around parental notification and consent. I’m sure Reid knew about the situation and moved to cover it up vs. address the situation and discipline the school social worker who was responsible.

Yeah, those pro-life supporters’ prayers are very dangerous! However, no need to blame on them the unjustifiable superintendent’s 24/7 armed security. Unless, of course, you care to share incidents in Fairfax Co. when they caused badly harm to anyone because of their beliefs to protect the unborn.

On the other hand, I would be more concerned about the real criminals who benefit from the revolving door created by the liberal policies that refuse to enforce law and order. An example is the criminal who recently tried to abduct a toddler at a shopping mall in Fairfax. He had a large criminal sheet, yet the legal system in Fairfax decided to free him time and again. In fact, he is in the country illegally, but that is another story for another time.

As it’s to be expected, Reid, the SB, and everyone else in One Fairfax want us to believe that we are all safe, and that we live in the best county in the entire country. Therefore, we should just be grateful and embrace the current status quo. And that, actually, they are the only ones who need real protection. As the old saying goes: Rules for thee but not for me.

Instead of reading the room and serving the public that pays their salaries, they are doing this kind of BS? Don’t they know they are about to kill the golden goose?

FCPS is too big and tries to do too many things. Too many layers of bureaucracy. Time to eliminate gatehouse and divide up the district.

It is. I'm as liberal as they come but this county is a mess and needs to be broken down into smaller parts.FCPS does not put students first and that is their job.

You do know that the violent attacks on prolife groups and crisis pregnancy centers far exceed the attacks on abortion providers by close to 70/30?

“A source told 7News those security staffers, who were hired to protect Reid, had previously been "responsible for protecting schools" before being reassigned to the superintendent's security detail.” So does that mean she did hire Overton and people from his security company?

If so that would

1) be too good
2) make you wonder a whole lot about what kind of back room deals/corruption is going on there

"Lucy Culkins"?

Well played.

You got that right. If the reports are proven true, the people who funded and facilitated abortions for under-aged students without their parents consent need jail time, along with anyone covering it up. This needs to be handled quickly and definitively by the state.

Reid hiring bodyguards seems to indicate that her intent to bunker down rather than comply with any investigation.

I've lived in Mount Vernon, Fairfax City, McLean, Alexandria, and Annandale, had many friends who lived out there, used to hang out at the Shark Club, and never knew it was Centreville until yesterday. So I guess this scandal was good for one thing.

Reid layoffs hundreds of school based staff to hire more bootlickers, "though leaders", "yes men", and those with fancy credentials but no real skills and values in the central office. Then claims virtue. She should have to at the least very least chip in ignorantly for these new security ppl.
