Silver Spring's median household income is significantly lower at $95,213 compared to Bethesda's $164,142. Additionally, the chances of becoming a crime victim in Silver Spring are 1 in 28, compared to 1 in 71 in Bethesda. While Silver Spring offers cultural diversity, Bethesda's economic stability, lower poverty, and crime rates make it a safer and more appealing area for many.

As indicated above, Montgomery County gets an A+ for its low crime and not everyone wants to (or can afford to) live in Bethesda, so silver spring is a great choice for many people.
