Again $39 is the top wage. No one under 40 is making that. Several cites to this above. Speaking of which, where are the cites to the average longshoremen making $300k a year? Someone keeps insisting this is so. The math just isn’t there. Even at the top rate of $39 a hour with a ton of overtime they aren’t going much above 6 figures. Where did this myth begin?

paid $621,858,750.79, including regular overtime wages, vacation and holiday benefits. The chart
below reflects the earnings ranges of those longshore workers who perform work involving the
discharge or loading of general cargo vessels, and who comprise the “deep-sea register.” These
earnings, which are reported by the New York Shipping Association, Inc., do not include
additional container royalty payments.
