JG is way less of a saint than people paint her to be. She’s clearly codependent with him and likes this savior role. I find her behavior troubling.

I don’t buy the hermit defense. Ben Affleck loves attention too. He loved it as much as J Lo. How else do you explain the hundreds of pap strolls when he was with Ana de Armas?

This was actually a decent overview that seemed to have some sources from both camps. He's dark, negative, and introverted while she is unwilling to turn off being "JLO" for a hot minute. Two vastly different personalities that don't mesh. He feels bad he started it back up in the first place. Good. Shame she doesn't take any responsibility for the incessant "JLo"ing of their relationship.

She knows that Ben’s sobriety is a huge positive for her kids, one of whom is just 12. She has put up with a ton (that drive through photo- legendary), and no doubt sacrificed opportunities personal and professional *for her kids’ dad*

I don’t think Jen G wants to be with Ben romantically, but she’s definitely very committed to supporting his well being.

I doubt we will get much information and it’s going to be a boring divorce, which is great for them but not so much for gossip. If we have to go back and fight about 2002 it seems pretty silly.

I will shout this from the rooftops --a woman compromising herself, her relationships, and her kids' stability to support the antics of an addict (Ben doesn't act sober) is NOT behaving in her kids' best interest. Although Ben's sobriety is a positive for everyone, Garner is not responsible for it. She needs to provide a safe place for them away from the Affleck-Lopez circus.

Ben can call his sponsor for support.
Ben can see his kids another time, after he gets more balance.
Garner is codependent.

How do you know he doesn’t call his sponsor? I don’t think she indulges him. My point was I don’t think she is romantically involved with him, this is the same relationship they’ve had since splitting.

Agree. At the point where she drove him to rehab, his alcohol abuse was so severe that he could have died, either from drinking himself to death or the physical effects of alcohol withdrawal. I think she just wants to keep him as healthy as possible so that her kids have a father.

I agree with all this but also don’t know how much further it’s gone. The gossip rag says her current Bf is irritated that she’s acting as Ben’s personal therapist. If that’s true, that’s too much, and she needs to draw boundaries. Although maybe she’s made the decision better her than Violet. I definitely know people who turn their teen/young adult kids into their love life therapists. I had friends in college whose single moms called them every single day to talk and my friends didn’t feel like they could say “mom, I’m too busy to talk with you again today” because they knew how lonely their moms were and also were trying to shield their younger siblings.
