Are you two really debating the performance/inconsistencies of 13/14 year old girl soccer players? Good grief.

Anonymous wrote:Such a weird system around here where ID sessions and the next years coaching slated all come out during the late winter/early spring and the carousel keeps turning. Feels like it's a yearly disservice to the players. Are other markets like this? Do any other markets around the country wait until after the spring season to hold tryouts?

I would say so as the Ukies beat up on your ECNL teams that were in the top flight at WAGS and we beat the Ukies. But to be fair they are 13 and 14 years old and so inconsistent they will play lights out today and horrible tomorrow.

They did beat Bethesda, Arlington, Brave, FC Delco, Richmond etc. and will beat VDA, NVA, and Union if they ever meet in a tournament. They also beat the Ukies from PA at WAGS as well but none of that matters to be honest especially at this age. I predict they will have a better spring if the coaches motivate them through all the uncertainty. This fall will be fun once the dust settles. If VAR is able to get the 11s, 10s, 09s, and 08s to come over then VAR will compete well in the GA Mid Atlantic conference. They will have a home with fields, restaurants, weight room, lockers and more no other club in Loudoun will have that.

They don't really have them beyond U15 though. I think they only fielded 2nd teams for U13-U15 and beyond that if there were bubble players they would just double roster on a GA and United team.
They have a U-17 United team that practices at Hanson. That team has a large roster. So much so that they kind of split it in two and one team plays EDP and the other plays NCSL. But to the best of my knowledge, none (or *very* few) of those players have ever played with the U-17 GA team.
