I have tattoos. My kid doesn't do any after school activities. I like Florida, maybe even to live one day! And I have all the money I need making low 6 figures.

I agree with the second poster. Diversity is a strength, but that this point DEI has become a boom industry full of grifters with a financial interest in keeping us all segregated and angry. Racial harmony is not good for business. I’m now skeptical of anyone with any sort of DEI-related job title.


Agree completely.

DEI is dividing people and tearing this country apart. It is accomplishing the opposite of its intended goals, and needs to go away. I actually agree with the Florida’s Governor’s decision to expel DEI from the state government.


DEI puts way too much focus on individual identity, which is the opposite of what you should do if you want to become more inclusive and welcoming.

This is not a knock against Katie, but her appearance is just everything I imagine DCUM's to approve of. Not overweight, very fit (obviously). Simple haircut. Clean look. Her style seems to be preppy, modest (but not weird), muted, classic, simple. Makeup, but very natural look. No visible logos. Straight teeth. Simple jewelry.

Family lives in Bethesda. House is spacious, but not gaudy. Brick colonial. (My parents live a few blocks away, don't judge.) I'm sure it is very classy and clean on the inside.

Even her and her brother's names exemplify the DCUM dream: Katie and Michael. Simple. "Classic."


She seems utterly sexless.


Like PP said, she is everything DCUM approves of. Including that.


Her appearance is nothing to envy.

We have a trampoline.
We eat dinner no earlier than 8pm.
I breastfed my kids until they wanted to stop, which was around 2 or 2.5.
I drive with the windows down as much as possible.
My kids take the bus and metro by themselves and have done since they were 9 or 10.
We shop locally for food most days (on foot) to make for dinner and don’t plan ahead or do big weekly grocery runs.
My parents live with us and everyone is happy about it.
We spend a lot of money on travel.

Oh, I was a size 0 or 2 when I dated him! He was 5'4", balding (we were in our late 20s), and none of my friends thought he was handsome but he was making $300k at 29 and I thought he was sexy as hell, because he was really smart and funny. Sadly, he was also kind of an ahole so we parted ways after six months.

Oh, he told me pretty early on, like within the first month of dating, that he was going to marry me. I was exactly what he wanted in a wife, I was the only person he wanted to be the mother of his children, I made him want to be a better person. He was in love with me and I actually loved him back but once he got comfy he got snarky and I couldn't deal with that.


Sucks for you. You could have been a rich Bethesda SAHM and part of the clique. You would have been so happy!

We don’t pay a dime towards our kid’s college education. While we fund some expenses, the loans and majority is on her.
