I think with anonymous posting, a "like" button would be subject to tremendous abuse. We already have posters who soc puppet and "+1" their own posts.

It's missing from the phone version of Recent Topics. I left it out by accident, but the feedback I received is that it was better that way because it allowed posters to see more threads.
