My sister lives in assisted living with my mother, out of necessity for her. Tell your SIL that

Untrue. There are many very pretty single women.
They must still be in their 20s.
A "very pretty" woman would be fending off suitors. There are always exceptions, but in 95% of the cases, a really pretty woman would be scooped up real quick.
There are plenty of gorgeous African American women that are single.
Those are racist African American women who will only date black men.
Black male population statistics aren’t in favor of these women finding suitable mates within their community and they need to come to terms with that or settle or date outside their race.
African American woman are in a tough position to be honest. While it is true that more and more women are graduating colleges compared to men, for African American woman it is worse. And let’s be honest women are very picky (for good reasons). You will not come accross many women who are college grads and will settle for a non college grad. So African American woman don’t have a big pool of fellow African American men college grads. So some choose to remain single.
As an educated latina woman with a good physique I feel the same. Some of us latinas with advanced degrees have a hard time finding a latino man whose college educated and is attractive.
I think regardless of race this will be more and more the case. It is interesting that women will not settle for a man who is less educated but men will do the same. Unless women come to grip that they may have to settle for non college grads or men who aren’t as successful as them they will struggle to find that ideal guy. I have introduced a very good friend of mine to my sister who who is a successful banker. My friend is a painter but otherwise fantastic man. OMG she gave me a whole lecture about how intellectually inferior he is etc….The more she went on I started to ask myself whether she is crazy.
Not crazy. She is mentally ill, or a feminist, maybe both.

And they get told no over and over again.
Then their standards are too high for their looks. They're probably asking out women that are out of their league and should probably settle or give a chance to a fat woman or uglier woman.
+1. I am continually shocked at how bizarre men’s standards are. I know men who are overweight, bald, not rich, etc., that think they are entitled to date and marry ONLY the most beautiful women.
PP, just because these guys rejected you doesn't mean they only want the most beautiful women. Just someone less unattractive than yourself which is likely still very far from beautiful.

Men are smart. There are things that really matter in a relationship, but your resume isn’t one of them.

I understand if someone was unlucky in love and hasn’t met the right person, but it’s hard for me to understand never even trying. They might go on the occasional first date but have never had anyone they introduce as a partner or SO and never talk about looking for it. I’m so curious about how this happened but don’t want to be rude and ask them.
I also know men 35+ who have never been in relationships but it seems a bit different — for them it seems more related to social awkwardness, fear of rejection, or laziness. But who knows.

And this is honestly why the older single women I know are also. They had way too high superficial standards when young, didn’t give good men a chance, and now all those guys are off the market anyway. It’s important for men and women to have a realistic sense of self.

Riiight. Women lack the ability to speak. Or something.
