Well I don't think Rice is up there with ivys, except maybe Cornell. Where did you get this info from, Emorys acceptance rate is 11%

Are you kidding?? I don’t have a kid at either but know both schools well and currently know many kids at both. Tufts is by far the better school with smarter, more serious and truly academic students. Tulane is a party school with smart enough kids who didn’t chose their college for academics reasons. Tufts is also better known and more highly regarded in professional circles. No comparison.


Tufts is a great school, but you are clearly not informed about Tulane's academics and its standing in professional circles. It's far more than a party school for rich kids.


NP, but I, too, had the image of Tulane students being less academically focused. I think of Enory and Tufts as akin. So I checked: Tufts’s admitted student profile for 2021 shows a mid 50% range for SAT of 1490-1540 (Emory’s is identical), vs Tulane’s mid 50% range was 1410-1500. I still think that Tufts attracts the more serious student, but Tulane has plenty of smart kids, too.


Attending or admitted? Also, you need to look carefully at the percentage reporting scores.

Less than 50% of Tufts students submit scores while over 60% of Emory students do.

Agreed. Also, Brown is by far the most under appreciated Ivy. It has produced some of the brightest minds in the world. It has also been the go to Ivy for children of Hollywood royalty. (I know everybody says NYU is to go to for celebrities children but that’s not an Ivy)


Yes, Brown is not a graduate school powerhouse, but it has been pretty hot and improving at the undergraduate level for some time now.
