There are usually like 5-10 families out of 75 or so that can afford a 20 million dollar place. The rest aren’t astronomically wealthy

I think most TT and non-TT schools in NYC is going to have that group. Some do have more of a flash your wealth vibe reputation. It takes time to find your people. But you will be surprised but there are many people who are full pay but do not have the Hamptons house or 20 million dollar apts - i.e., those who are sandwiched between the super wealthy and those on FA.

Are there any top tier Kindergartens that are less stuffy/snobby than others? We would be a full pay family but we definitely don't go to a second home, summer out east, ski out west. Just saw a posting on facebook UES moms group where mom was talking about her daughter in a top tier school but had no friends because of the social differences

I know 1 at Brearley. 2 at Nightingale. 1 at HM. 1 at Spence.

At the 6th grade entry point, I knew of two people coming off waitlists plus my own daughter. Not a ton of movement but some.

Riverdale in particular does use their waitlist. Not sure at kindergarten!

Kindergarten waitlists don’t move much, they are mostly seen as polite rejections.
