This was an unusual situation because Dems got drunk on power and didn’t want to give up control once they had a taste. If you watched the discussions in the House and Senate, Dems looked like children who had their favorite stuffed animal snatched away. They were almost crying.

I wish someone could explain to me from a psychological POV exactly why people are losing their minds over this. I cannot believe it’s because they think masks actually “work,” or even if they did, why they think there is enough Covid around to actually worry about. It’s something much deeper that is driving people to near madness. I would love to understand better

PP again. It’s way more than that. I have 2 unvaccinated kids under 5 and I don’t give it a second thought. Granted, they don’t have unusual health conditions but if they did, I would view it as my responsibility to protect them. Not everyone else.

Do you feel that way when your kids are coughing a lot and sneezing all over the place? When they have pink eye? When they've thrown up or had diarrhea in the past 24 hours? in those circumstances do you still take them to daycare or play dates or classes where they're sharing toys and germs with other kids? In those situations do you feel it it is all of the other parents' responsibilities to keep their own kids home if they want to keep them from getting your child's cold, stomach bug, or pick eye?

Not that I see the relevance of these questions but of course I do. If they are (really) sick, I keep them home because they don’t feel well. I do not keep them home for every little sniffle. What does that have to do with why people have gone insane to advocate for masking?

You keep them home because your kids aren't feeling well (so it is only about your kids) or you keep them home so they don't get other kids sick? If the later it is the same with masks. Taking measure to prevent spreading disease to other people.

I didn't mean every little sniffle. I should have said something like a yucky runny nose or something like that.

I keep them home primarily because they don’t feel well. Yes of course it’s about them; I’m their mother.

Most people also recognize they shouldn't take their contagious kids around other kids to help keep the other kids.
