Does yelling and swearing work for you? Well, I guess you all did yell and swear at the Council long enough to get potential child neglect legalized.
You really need to get over yourself. Or don't and die mad. Either works for me.
I understand that you are good with creating legalized child abuse. And that makes you foul, and hurts the rest of your cause.
Honey, you don't even know what child abuse really is nor do you get the difference between child abuse and neglect. If you are not educating your child it is a form of neglect but really no one cares. Just like no one cares when parents refuse to help with the homework or education outside of the school and expect the schools to do everything and when the kids are failing, they don't hold the schools or parents accountable.
Vaccines will help stop symptoms. You can still get and transmit covid so stop acting like the vaccine is the cure. Its a huge help, but its far from a cure.

absolutely not. keeping kids of any race home is harmful. I declined to enroll my kid when we got an offer last year because the “oh no variants!” talk scared me. it was a big mistake. also - parents of ANY race could ALWAYS file the homeschool paperwork. This is about parents literally doing nothing to show their kids are being educated.
I agree that it is odd that the PP doesn’t believe that Black parents can file homeschool paperwork.
As a white, educated parent who has worked in CPS, I find zero reason to file homeschooling paperwork. If I am to provide the education, its on me and the school has nothing to do with it. I gave the school the option with several notes from my doctors and my children's doctors saying it was unsafe for them to return for several reasons and the school said they wouldn't work with us. If they cannot work with us and give us the basic curriculum and support, then they had their chance and I would rather spend the time with my kids on their education than filling out paperwork.
If you want me to send my kids back in person, you, need to help make it safe. But, when you are living your life as normal and we are not, I'm not sending mine to be in a school with yours and we potentially risk covid from your families choices and behaviors. I will not be getting covid from your poor choices (I cannot blame the kids as its up to us as parents to teach responsibility and most parents care more about their needs and wishes than what is best for the kids and community).
If CPS wants to come visit, they are welcome to and I'll happily talk to them outside. I still have plenty of friends working in CPS who know I will handle the education so I cannot even imagine the call being screened in for investigation. My kids are ahead of grade level and in advanced classes. Even if they took a full year off of school, they'd be fine. If they took 2 years off of math, they'd still be way ahead of many kids.

not to mention the educational neglect of almost ALL DC children from March 2020 - Sept 2021. It’s painfully painfully clear in retrospect that school closures have never been justified as a matter of public health this whole time. And yet these voices still have influence - almost as if the Council has to give them creedence so as not to face their role in the single biggest blow to the education of DC children in a generation.
