Oh please. This forum exists in large part so women can gripe about how few men there are tall enough, educated enough, and mostly wealthy enough to meet their exacting standards.

Looks, connections and money trump character and intellect every time, even in admission and job interviews. That's why standardized testing is very important, human interactions are biased.

I think its a matter of compatibility, well educated people gravitate towards other well educated people. Its not all about degrees, success or income but like mindedness. Just like liberals are usually attracted towards liberals and conservatives towards other conservatives and independent moderates towards other independent moderates.

Ok the first three I try to give some sympathy since there is a genetic and historical component that is outside the man’s control but really? Get online, fill out an application, literally anyone can get an education on this country. Don’t get the test scores? Study. Don’t like the tuition? Get a loan. But this is wholly in your power and you prefer to whine on the internet about women’s preferences instead of studying for the GRE.
I was married, through good times and bad, and you know what was irrelevant to having a worthwhile relationship? Height, wealth, and number of university degrees.

I just don’t get this. And I should preface this by saying I’m a guy with an Ivy degree. But would you ladies not consider someone who owns his own construction business or a few Subway franchises and earns $150,000 per year? But why the obsession with “well-educated” men? Do you not understand that for many people, going to college/graduate school is a terrible life decision? I mean, there was a recent article about NYU film grads coming out of the Master’s program with $30,000/year jobs and $250,000 in debt. Surely women in their late 30s recognize that the dating market is not skewed in their favor. Why add yet *another* filter that further winnows down your available options?
With all due respect, a well educated man is not an NYU film grad.
Why not? I'm impressed when I meet USC or NYU film grads. They have a lot more interesting things to say, on average, than Harvard and Yale Law grads. (I'm one of those; Harvard pumps our over 500 of us every year, and most of us do boring things and think about boring things.)

this illustrates the problem with dating apps. you might totally click with someone who does not have your same education background? but how do you narrow the universe in such a superficial setting if you are trying to go by something other than looks?

If education is meaningless, there are a tremendous number of dupes in this country spending unfathomable amounts of money on a frivolity.
If it is meaningful, then it makes sense that women would use it as a relevant when seeking out a relationship.
